Alison is the founder and owner. She started Grace Flowers Hawaii in 2012 from an extensive background in floral and horticulture. Born and raised in Hawaii, she has been designing flowers professionally since she was 13 (that's not counting the lei sold by the side of the road starting at age 9...we don't talk about that). She started working as a florist at one of the Kohala coast resorts and ended up managing that flower shop, which instilled the desire to operate a shop of her own. 10 years later here we are!
Having moved from the mainland (Seattle) to Hawaii a few years ago, Nicole brings over 15 years of floral design experience from a wide variety of flower shops, studio florists and floral wholesale experience, especially working with local farms and growers. At Grace Flowers, she is one of the managers as well as the media coordinator. Her passions (better known as obsessions) are floral art, ferns and moss and learning about new flowers and foliages.
Originally from Massachusetts, Missy moved to the Big Island in 2008. She's the mother of 3 beautiful children and joined the Grace Flowers team in the beginning of 2017. As our administration manager, she handles the constant influx of emails, inquiries, quotes and questions. As a lover of all things glitter, she brings the sparkle to the team.
Terri has been with Grace Flowers going on 4 years and brings years of design experience as one of our lead designers. She loves spending time with her husband and three kids, going to the beach and enjoying this island we call home!
Shannon is a longtime member of the Grace Flowers family (literally, she's Alison's sister). Born and raised on the Big Island, she is our designated head lei maker. She brings a great work ethic and a lifetime of lei-making experience to the team, and her two adorable daughters help brighten up the shop.
Born and raised on the Big Island, Kamaehu had a very early start in making lei and lei po'o. Here at Grace Flowers he wears many hats including floral design, lei as well as wedding set up. With his grandmother as his biggest influence, flowers and plants have always been a large part of his life.
Lisa is one of our invaluable staff members handling most of our wedding set ups and breakdowns as well as keeping our inventory counted and organized. Her positivity is essential to the sometimes stressful situations handed her way. She is also a mother of two and loves the color purple!
A recent graduate of Honokaa High, Peyton is taking a year off of school and has been working hard as a part of our crew, where she is a big help to the GF team. Besides her peppy attitude and
lei-making skills, she is also our resident photographer. You can follow her on instagram to see some of her amazing work: @peyyto.n
Ryan Higgins (aka Higgs) is the Jack-of-all-trades here at Grace Flowers. From construction projects to computer work to planting plants around the shop, he's not afraid to get his hands dirty. He was born and raised in Hawaii and enjoys hiking and hitting the beach in his free time. Ryan's passion is music and he's currently writing songs for his 2nd album. You can find his music here: www.higgsmusic.com
Originally from Oregon, Joyce has lived in Hawaii for the last 35 years. She's been a lifelong gardener and even used to work at Alison's parents' nursery when Alison was a child. Since then she has raised 3 kids and
has started her own farming operation.
Her passion for all things living make her an invaluable asset to the business.
Julia is another one of our delivery and set up as well as lei making staff, working whenever she isn't taking courses and studying for her bachelors degree in criminology. She always brings a smile and a hard working aesthetic to the shop.
Born and raised in Hawaii, Kuulei brings her lovely smile to work for every shift relaxed and ready to handle everything from changing out the walk in cooler to lei making. She is always ready to go the extra mile needed on those long work days.
Last but definitely not least is Alison's father, Mike who handles most of the construction projects which includes everything from new arches to tiered centerpieces vessels to farm tables. Besides those projects he also spends his afternoons chasing Alison's little nieces around the shop.
